Minister of State for Policing and Fire Service and London questioned on Government's progress in implementing Macpherson report recommendations
On 12 July 2019, the Home Affairs Select Committee heard from Rt Hon Nick Hurd MP, Minister of State for Policing and the Fire Service and Minister for London, on the Government's progress in implementing the recommendations of the Macpherson Report. This included steps taken to address that report's findings on institutional racism in the police, measures taken in respect of the recruitment and retention of BAME officers and staff in the police workforce, police-community relations and stop and search.
